Nifty weekly market summary week of 2 to 6 Nov 2026

“Nifty Leaves the Gym, Enters a Powerlifting Meet”

Last week Nifty finished therapy and joined a gym. This week it signed up for its first powerlifting meet and refused to put the bar down. Five green days, about 8.6% up for the week, and a Friday close of 25,030.35, just in time for Dhanteras.

Monday: The Warm-Up Set

Nifty stretched, then lifted 1.68% to 23,440. Crude cooled on Iran–Qatar talks. Oil & Gas did the heavy lifting, up 5.95%, with Reliance at the bar. Infosys skipped the warm-up.

Tuesday: Protein Shake Day

Up 1.58% to 23,810.85. FMCG chugged the shake, up 3.65%, with Nestle and Tata Consumer handing out snacks. Brent still sat near $105 after reports of a US strike on Iran’s Qeshm Island. Nobody left the gym.

Wednesday: The Grind Set

A small rep: up 0.63% to 23,960.60, a fifth straight win. Smallcaps sprinted 2% and Media jumped 5.15%. IT was the only sector skipping class, down 1.5%. FIIs had bought about ₹6,837 crore the day before.

Thursday: Adrenaline Rush

Crude extended a roughly 9% slide, with Brent near $96. Nifty roared 2.40% to 24,536.60 and the Sensex added over 2,000 points. Autos flexed 4.14%. Bajaj Finance and M&M posed for the mirror.

Friday: The Dhanteras Deadlift

The Nasdaq dropped its weights on AI-spending fears. Nifty opened flat, then lifted 2.01% to 25,030.35. Private banks spotted it, up 3.2%, led by ICICI and HDFC Bank. Smallcaps sat on the bench, down 0.8%.

Nifty IT

Still doing cardio on the Nasdaq treadmill. The treadmill fell over.

Private Banks

Friday’s spotters. Caught the bar and took the credit.

Smallcaps

Sprinted 2% midweek, then napped through Friday.

What To Watch

Bullish Scenario

  • Brent stays under $100 and keeps inflation fears quiet.
  • FII buying keeps flowing into large caps.
  • Muhurat trading on Sunday, 8 November, sets a festive mood.

Bearish Scenario

  • The US tech sell-off spreads beyond the Nasdaq.
  • Seven straight green sessions invite profit booking.
  • Weak midcap and smallcap breadth drags the rally. Markets shut Tuesday, 10 November, for Diwali.
Nifty didn’t skip leg day. It skipped the red days.
